Eid Outfits

Eid is two festivals a year and, in most families, two outfits each. Eid al-Fitr comes straight after Ramadan and is the bigger fashion moment; Eid al-Adha follows about ten weeks later and is usually more relaxed. The day itself has a shape: early prayers in something modest and fresh, a long family lunch, and then the evening rounds of visiting, which is when the sharara sets, ghararas and lighter lehengas come out.

For the morning, most women choose a shalwar kameez or a three-piece suit in lawn, chiffon or organza, with a dupatta that will stay in place through the prayers. For the evening, a sharara or gharara set, an anarkali or a lehenga choli in a richer colour. Men wear a shalwar kameez or a kurta, often with a waistcoat. Children are dressed to match one parent, and matching sibling sets are the outfits that sell out first every year.

That is a lot of clothing for one day, which is why Eid is the festival preloved suits best. The designer suit bought for last year’s Eid was worn once, the children have grown out of theirs, and the sharara set from a cousin’s walima is still in its bag. Eid buyers shop in the four to six weeks before the day, so list during the first half of Ramadan rather than on Chaand Raat. For Eid al-Fitr 2027 that means January and early February. Shalwar kameez, sharara and gharara sets and children’s outfits move fastest, and bundles of matching sibling outfits go quicker than anything listed alone.

Say the word Eid in the title and description, and say which Eid. Families search by the occasion they are dressing for, and “worn once for Eid 2026” answers the question directly. Name the designer if there is one, photograph the label, and give bust, length and sleeve in centimetres, because Pakistani, Indian and UK sizes all differ.

Expected pricing: preloved shalwar kameez typically sell for £30 to £90, with designer labels at £80 to £300. Sharara and gharara sets sit around £40 to £120, anarkalis £35 to £90, and children’s outfits £10 to £35.
